AI PDF Translator: Translate Documents While Keeping Formatting
Translating a PDF badly usually means the layout breaks — text overflows its box, tables misalign, headers shift. AllPDFMagic's Translate tool aims to keep the original document's layout intact while replacing the text with a translation.
Supported Languages
The tool currently supports translation between: English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and Swedish.
How It Works
- Go to AllPDFMagic Translate and upload your PDF.
- Choose the source and target languages.
- Download the translated PDF.
The free tier translates up to 3,000 characters per document; longer documents are truncated at that limit. The PDF needs to contain selectable (not scanned) text — a scanned document needs OCR first.
Why Some Scripts Are Supported and Others Aren't
Rendering non-Latin scripts (Hindi, Bengali) correctly in a PDF requires the right font to actually contain the necessary characters — not every font does, and getting this wrong produces blank boxes instead of readable text. The language list above reflects what's currently verified to render correctly, not an arbitrary limit; languages using scripts not yet supported (Chinese, Arabic, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese) will return a clear error rather than a broken output file.
What to Check Before Translating
- The source PDF should have real, selectable text — copy a sentence out of it to check. If you can't select text, it's likely a scanned image and needs OCR first.
- Very long documents will be truncated on the free tier; for a full document beyond 3,000 characters, a paid plan removes the limit.
